MEASURE D: QUARRY TRANSITWAY CONNECTION PROJECT
Ballot Question: to reduce traffic congestion and travel time for transit riders, shall the measure undedicating a 0.33-acre portion of existing parkland in El Camino Park for the purpose of creating a new road primarily for transit vehicles linking the Palo Alto Transit Center with El Camino Real, be adopted?
Chamber endorsement: Our local businesses depend on a solid public transportation system to get employees from their homes to the jobsite. These improvements will create a safer experience and provide better connectivity for Palo Alto workers, especially at nearby medical facilities, the shopping center, Stanford University, and those working in restaurants and shops on University Avenue. We believe it will improve transit access for Caltrain and bus commuters as well as bicycle and pedestrian access for those crossing El Camino Real.
IN FAVOR: Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce, City of Palo Alto, Greenbelt Alliance, Yes on D – Connect Palo Alto’s Quarry Road. OPPOSED: none submitted.
