What is the Palo Alto Festival of the Arts?
The annual Palo Alto Festival of the Arts is a stunning, multifaceted celebration of the arts. This art showcase spans all mediums, from 250 booths of unique fine art to live music to a street painting expo. The festival began in 1983 and is proudly hosted by the Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce, with support from the City of Palo Alto.
When and where is the 2024 Palo Alto Festival of the Arts?
The 2024 Palo Alto Festival of the Arts will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 24-25. The festival will span nine blocks of University Avenue in downtown Palo Alto, from High to Webster streets.
Is the Festival free?
Yes, the Palo Alto Festival of the Arts is free and open to all ages.

Is the Festival kid-friendly?
Absolutely. We will have kids’ activities available in the Chalk-a-Lot street painting area.
Are pets allowed at the event?
Crowds can be scary for pets and the asphalt can be hot in August for pet paws. We strongly encourage you to leave your pets at home.
Where do I park for the Palo Alto Festival of the Arts? Can I take public transportation to get there?
There is plenty of convenient parking surrounding the festival, or better yet, take public transit with drop-off locations within close proximity of University Avenue. For public transit information, directions and parking, visit www.paloaltochamber.com/festival-of-the-arts-directions.
Will there be food and drink at the festival?
A variety of food and drink options, including water, soda, wine and microbrews, will be available throughout the festival grounds.
